just one thing bootcamp is the best or install windows on any intel based mac native alone without macOS operating system mac from late 2013 and above highly recommended to boot efi + ahci as macOS Doing when it boot and to avoid outdated crappy ide bios emulating mode. lastly this iMac will replace mac pro and more….

I really like the concept but my biggest concern of all is the heat will this thing generate. Can the thin profile of the iMac case take it?

As an Imac users, I'm not understand why Apple still doesn't work on the "Touch Screen".. No kidding, The price for this beast is surprisingly decent(For Professional). I would love to put this in my Wishlist but still.. If this runs with Touch screen, I would totally buy it~ Keep it up Apple. Do your best 😉 #waitingforiphone8

He sells iMac Pro like Trump sells his steaks. If I have to spend $5K on a "Pro" workstation, I would like to have the ability to upgrade, and this thing doesn't even have the awe factor of the Surface Studio.

just 4999? For that price i could get the same system with 3 1080 TI cards and still save a lot of money. I could also put os x in it

They sound expensive, but before passing judgement, think of what it would cost to do a Windows equivalent, or a Hackintosh equivalent, and don't forget the support and reliabllity you get from Apple, only when buying an Apple product.

The new imac pro still wont be able to compete with other providers in the workstation market, the Hp, Lenovo and other manufactures offer machines with 2x Xeon processors (up to 44 cores) multiple quadro gpu (not available on the mac) and 512gb of ram in comparison to 128 of the imac. Furthermore it allows flexibility to replace and update parts as technology develops. I think apple should of redesigned the original cheesegrater mac pro.

You can tell Apple paid some audience members to applaud at certain points especially at the end of the vid because who the hell is gonna applaud at a $4999 introductory price tag.

ITT; the internet learns high end computers have other uses than playing games… if you want to argue about paying apple tax, go compare the mac mini and cheaper imacs. unless your in a certain line of work; you wouldn't even need to think of getting a rig with these types of stats. it would be a total waste of money.

The comment section is cancerous, people are putting this machine in context with Facebook browsing desktops.

Again with the stupid comments with "I can build a better desktop and it's too expensive". For the performance, the price is justified. You have to consider the marketing, design, etc. This machine is not meant for 12 year olds to play minecraft, but for professional usage

Apple has invented a new meaning to the word "Just". I think they should patent it.

You think it's facile to stuck those things into a decent iMac? People always yell when apple relieves some powerful and gorgeous stuff as though they were capable of designing them. Moreover, if you think apple sucks, you mustn't be the prospective consumer. It's no use quarreling on 'Apples products are bullshit.'

how hot will this thing get in that iMac casing or is there going to be a bit of throttling to go with that $4999 starting price?
